Dr. Lynn Fitzsimmons
Dr. Lynn Fitzsimmons is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist who enjoys working with children, adolescents, and adults. Her warm and empathic nature helps empower clients to move in a healthy and healing direction.
Dr. Fitzsimmons works with clients across many areas of concern and has a special interest in the areas of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, self-esteem, trauma, emotional concerns, ADHD, and Sports Psychology related to Cross Country and Track and Field. She also enjoys treating late-life concerns related to changes in personal health or health of a loved one, loss of independence, family disputes, bereavement, and caregiver status. Dr. Fitzsimmons is committed to utilizing evidence-based techniques and applies a wide spectrum of theoretical approaches in therapy depending on the nature of the concern.
Dr. Fitzsimmons has been trained in a variety of therapy modalities including cognitive-behavioral therapy, positive psychology, mindfulness based cognitive-behavioral therapy, behavior modification, supportive therapy, art and play therapy, and dialectical behavior therapy.
Dr. Fitzsimmons received her Master’s degree in 1999 and her Doctoral degree in 2009 in Clinical Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Dr. Fitzsimmons also has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in Elementary Education. Prior to her career in psychology, Dr. Fitzsimmons worked as a School Psychologist in the Port Washington-Saukville School District and taught elementary school in the Mequon-Thiensville School District. She was also a previously competitive runner.
Dr. Fitzsimmons resides in Mequon, Wisconsin with her husband and has two college-aged children studying at UW-Madison. She loves running, hiking, biking, the outdoors, and spending quality time with her family.
